Day Trip to Bath

Bath on foot and by bus…

Bath is a beautiful architectural delight and is best seen on foot (free) or even better from the top of an open-topped sightseeing bus (forget all the ideas that this is ‘just for tourists’ – in Bath it works and the people who do it do a fine job) get a free map and details here or download the bus leaflet (with cool map) here on our downloads page

Travel – trains are best – particularly from London to Bath.

With such a central railway station, the train is always a great way to arrive in Bath. Frequent fast trains run from London Paddintgon station westwards (some direct – some stop lots) . Journey time is short – an hour or so but do check prices as London to Bath seems to be a crazy price at some times – try here: or

By car will be fine…

…. but parking is expensive and the one way system is tedious and not designed for visitors. Parking can be on street (usually limited to 2 hours or in (mostly local council owned) car parks which can be for much longer.

See this link for a map showing car parks closest to Sally Lunns

And live parking availability in Bath here – clever!
